29-year-old volleyball player died. Mysterious death immediately after transfer

Puerto Rico volleyball player Pilar Marie Victoria has died. The 29-year-old was found dead in an apartment rented by the club where she was supposed to play next season.

The player’s death was announced in Turkish media by activists of the Nilufer Belediyespor team, with which Pilar Mari Victoria had recently signed a contract. The volleyball player did not show up for the team’s morning training, and authorities, after alerting the coaching staff, went to the apartment the club had rented in the Besivler district of Nilufer, where they found her dead.

The cause of death is not yet known. The Turkish Public Prosecution has launched an investigation into the case, and we will not know the details until forensic examinations are conducted.

The Puerto Rican representative has joined Nilüfer Belediyespor ahead of the 2024/25 season that will begin soon. Previously, she has played for Beziers Volley in France, P2P Givova Baronissi in Italy, and for American college teams in Texas and Arkansas.
