Heat pumps and photovoltaic installations have been recognized in the European Union as exemplary solutions for the pursuit of climate neutrality. At the same time, it’s a solution for a zero-energy home – without bills, where instead of heating and electricity bills, you pay a monthly fixed fee for connecting to the grid. However, currently subsidies for heat pumps under the “Clean Air” program are only awarded to people who perform thermal retrofitting. Those who start construction must cover the entire costs of purchasing and installing heat pumps. But that will change soon. The new “Moje Ciepło” program will be used to support heat pumps in new homes.
From January 1, 2021, the new energy standard WT2021 applies to those who build new homes, making it easier to meet them with heat pumps for heating. However, while in the case of thermal modernization, the use of the heat pump allows to receive support from the “Moje Air” program, this program does not cover new investments. It is known that this will change in 2022.
The “Moje Ciepło” programme, which provides subsidies for the purchase and installation of heat pumps in new buildings with higher energy standards, will receive funding under the second tranche of funds from the European Union Modernization Fund. Support will also be allocated to five other programs provided by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management. The total budget of Polish projects approved is PLN 8.1 billion.
The “Moje Ciepło” program was approved by the Investment Committee of the Modernization Fund after obtaining a positive evaluation and recommendation from the European Investment Bank. The decision of the Investment Committee opens the way for the practical implementation of the “Moje Ciepło” program by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management – confirms Artur Lorkovsky, Vice President of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management.
