The head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said: There is a moment of truth in relations with Germany

There is a moment of truth in relations between Ukraine and Germany, according to the assessment of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Kiev, Dmytro Kuleba, citing the European portal Pravda.

Kuleba said on ICTV that since 2014 Germany has given Ukraine a lot, including When it comes to sanctions against Russia, support reforms and the Ukrainian economy.

But every crisis leads to a moment of truth in relationships. And now, with Germany, we have entered a moment of truth on a number of security issues of fundamental importance, the future of Ukraine as an independent state, and Euro-Atlantic security in general. – announced the head of Ukrainian diplomacy.

As he added, This is about supporting the most painful sanctions against Russia, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, and the question of arms supplies to Ukraine.

There is one aspect – bilateral supplies of weapons to Ukraine from Germany. But there are others as well. There is the question of allowing Germany to transfer arms to third countries. There is the question of Germany’s approval of Ukraine’s purchase of arms by the NATO regime. These are issues on which, in our opinion, the Germans cannot be said to prevent something – Kułeba emphasized.

The Minister also referred to the evacuation of the families of diplomats from four embassies in Kiev (USA, Great Britain, Australia and Germany), assessing that as Premature decision. There are currently no objective and factual introductions to this. I do not want to underestimate the situation, the degree of danger, the degree of possibilities for its development, but everything must be done in a timely manner and should be carefully considered – He said.

He noted that there are a total of 129 diplomatic missions in Ukraine, including consulates in regions bordering Russia, that do not carry out evictions.

The minister also commented on a draft of a group of Russian parliamentarians who want to recognize the independence of two pro-Russian separatist regions in eastern Ukraine – the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic and Luhansk People’s Republic. In Colaba’s opinion, the project aims to destabilize the situation. Minister He doubts that the Kremlin will recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed republics in the near future.
