Traces of China’s Zhurong rover captured from Mars orbit by NASA’s spacecraft

Zhurong is part of the mission Tianwen-1It is the first interplanetary project in China. The machine landed on the surface of Mars In May 2021. Now we have the opportunity to see how far it has traveled in a satellite image taken from orbit by a NASA probe.

The image below was taken by the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter on March 11 this year. The image was taken with the HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) camera from about 288 km above the surface. The photo shows the traces of the father. 1.5 km longbecause that’s how far Zhurong has traveled so far.

In the image above, you can see that Zhurong has passed where the shield and parachute used during the landing on Mars are. The machine is exploring an area called Utopia Planitia, the width of which is 3.3 thousand meters. km in the northern hemisphere of the red planet.
