50 years later, NASA has opened one of the last samples of the moon. This is what was inside

What secrets are hidden in the sample of the lunar surface that American astronauts placed in a special vacuum container in 1972? It will likely only be in the following months, as the sample was finally opened, so that scientists can begin to analyze it. After all, they had to wait for this moment, petty, 50 years!

However, it all started with Computed tomography of the container and a series of tests before final opening of the sample. The whole process requires specialized tools and proper organization of work, and whenever researchers also want to analyze the lunar gases contained in the sample container. In the center was the lunar regolith, the layer of loose, icy rock that covered and deposited the Silver Globe for billions of years.

As I mentioned, we still have to wait for the results of the sample analysis, but NASA is sure of that They will help plan for the agency’s upcoming lunar flights. Let us remind you that NASA is already preparing Artemis I mission to fly around the moon It is the first step in a plan to return American astronauts to the Moon. A plan that will also be implemented in cooperation with SpaceX.
