Residents can once again visit the distinctive building of the former water tower at ul. Filtrowa in Puławy. A modern astronomical observatory was finally made available.

On Friday, the modern astronomical observatory was officially opened in Puławy. It is a characteristic building of the former water tower of the Mujahideen. Feltrowa. The observatory was established in 1994, and in 2020 it was taken over by Puławy poviat, and shortly thereafter, its mass modernization began.

As confirmed during the event, the observatory will become a center for astronomical, cultural and artistic education for children and adolescents, but also for adults. They will be able to participate in workshops, lectures and exhibitions, thus exploring the mysteries of knowledge. At the same time, the display of the Youth Cultural Center and the District Public Library will be greatly enriched.

The renovation of the observatory cost one million zlotys. The building consists of four floors with lecture and exhibition rooms, an art workshop, an observation room, and two viewing terraces, among others. At the top is a dome with a telescope.

Today, residents can see what the observatory looks like after renovation and observe the night sky and laser show. Soon, the building will host workshops, exhibitions and other cultural events.
