Asteroid 2009 JF1 is less than 10 meters in diameter. The object is a smaller meteorite that flew over Chelyabinsk in 2013.

The asteroid was first observed by the Piszkéstető Observatory in northern Hungary. Within two hours, NASA estimated where the asteroid might fall and notified relevant institutions, including the Planetary Defense Coordination Office.
