The British station reports that the request was made by the FSB on the fiftieth day of the war in Ukraine. The draft assumes that compensation for the burial costs of those killed during military service will be higher by 7,800-11,000 rubles. It all depends on the military rank and the place of burial of the soldier.

The project proposes to increase the cost of one tombstone from 4.8 thousand PLN to 6 thousand PLN. rubles. Thus, the total reimbursements for the cost of burying a dead soldier will increase to 56,400-74,200 rubles.

The request for additional funds for a military burial is explained by the fact that these expenses were not included in the list of annual social benefits. By April 20, the project must be subject to an “independent anti-corruption expertise” and then submitted to the government for approval.

On March 25, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 1,351 Russian soldiers had been killed in combat and another 3,825 were wounded. The Kremlin has not reported losses since then. According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the Russian side lost about 20 thousand people.

Since the outbreak of the war, price increases in Russia have accelerated sharply due to sanctions, market panics, and supply disruptions. On an annual basis, inflation reached nearly 17% in March, the same amount that the Financial Stability Board is calling for an increase in provisions.
