How we got to the end of the Europa League: EINTRACHT – RANGERS
Eintracht, who has been in impressive form this season and eliminated Betis, Barcelona and West Ham United on their way to the finals, has won the Europa League once: in 1980, when the competition was dubbed the UEFA Cup.
Rangers have played in the Finals for the first time since 2008, when they had to acknowledge the superiority of Zenit St. St. Petersburg. Since then, no Scottish team has played in the last European Cup. In the 2021/2022 edition, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s players mainly left Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig at the undefeated stadium.
Fighting first and foremost
The first noteworthy situation occurred at the start of the match, despite the lack of a chance to score. John Lundstram of the FC Rangers ran traffic jams over Sebastian Road’s head. The German needed a few minutes to recover. Eventually he can continue to play with the bandage.
Eintracht responded first with a Daichi Kameda move, and a moment later with a menacing shot from Ansgar Knauf. However, the goalkeeper of the Scottish team brilliantly intervened.
Neither side had a clear advantage, and if something happened under one of the targets, the accuracy was missing. Just like Jose Aribo (Rangers) shot.
Missed hits doubled and minutes passed. Unfortunately, nothing changed until the end of the first half. It is possible that both teams are paralyzed at stake.
blow to blow
After switching sides, things got more interesting. Mostly because of the aribo target. It was the 57th minute when Eintracht defender Tota missed the ball and the Nigerian striker blocked the ball and gave the Scottish team the lead with an accurate shot across the ground.

Aribo record for RangersThe Bundesliga team immediately tried to answer. He had two cases, but only the third one was successful. Filip Kostic passed into the penalty area from the left flank, and Rafael Buri overcame the defenders and hit the ball near the post.

Wait and shoot
The players were getting tired more and more, the hardships of the season were affecting them. The speed was running out and there were more and more errors. In addition, in Seville, where the final was played, the temperature exceeded 30 degrees Celsius. All of that translated into the quality of the rest of the meeting.
Only in the second half of extra time, Rangers played more aggressively and Borna Barisic decided to shoot from distance, but Kevin Trapp hit the ball without any problems. The German goalkeeper performed better in the 120th minute when Ryan Kent hit a close-range shot. The goal must be victory.
The penalties were decisive for whoever would win the title. In the fourth series of eleven, veteran Aaron Ramsey hit badly and hits a tarp ball. After a while, Kosti made no mistake and Eintracht was leading 4:3. However, it was Pori’s powerful shot 5:4 that gave the Frankfurt team the victory.
Thus, Eintracht is the first team to win the European Cup Final in the 2021/2022 season. Thanks to this, he ensured his participation in the next edition of the Champions League.
On May 25, Roma (Nikola Zalowski) will play Feyenoord Rotterdam in the decisive match of the European Conference League.
And three days later, at the Stade de France near Paris, Liverpool will play Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
