From 11 a.m. Sunday, the Saratoga to Quebec (SQ) diving team has been working to search the river near the intersection of Deremarzois and Lasalle Boulevard.

At around 3pm an SQ helicopter also joined the search, while police officers on a bicycle patrolled the river bank in the metropolis of Verdun, where the man fell into the water on Saturday.

Montreal firefighters were also called in for reinforcement on Saturday evening.

SPVM spokeswoman Veronica Kamdois said a study would be conducted on Monday.

“If this assessment allows us, there should be resumption research depending on how the situation develops,” Agent Comdois said.

The 12-foot boat broke down Saturday evening. Three people were on board, two of whom were rescued. One of the survivors was taken to hospital, but there was no fear for his life. The third passenger is still missing.
