Based on Harlan Coben’s 2015 novel of the same name, The Stranger is a British mystery thriller miniseries written by Danny Brocklehurst. The series debuted on Netflix on January 30, 2020. It stars Siobhan Finneran, Richard Armitage, and Hannah John-Kamen. The filming took place in the vicinity of Manchester and Stockport.
The plot features a woman in her twenties wearing a baseball cap approaching Adam Price and revealing a secret to him. His wife disappears as a result of the revelation. As the plot develops, it is revealed that the stranger is related to other mysteries.
2. The Night Manager
Susanne Bier directs the British television series The Night Manager, which stars Tom Hiddleston, Tom Hollander, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, David Harewood, and Elizabeth Debicki. It is inspired by John le Carré’s 1993 novel of the same name, which David Farr has updated for the modern day. The six-part series premiered on BBC One on February 21, 2016.
The story revolves around Jonathan Pine, a former British soldier and night manager of a luxury hotel in Cairo. He is hired by Angela Burr, manager of a Foreign and Commonwealth Office task force pursuing illegal arms transactions, to join Richard Roper’s inner circle.
3. The Missing
Written by siblings Harry and Jack Williams, The Missing is a British anthology television drama. Tom Shankland directed the first eight-part series on the search for a missing kid in France.
The story is about a boy’s parents, James Nesbitt and Frances O’Connor are portrayed by James Nesbitt and Frances O’Connor, respectively. They are in search of their 5-year-old missing son.
4. Top of the Lake
Jane Campion and Gerard Lee conceptualized and wrote Top of the Lake, while Campion and Garth Davis directed the series. In both seasons, Elisabeth Moss portrays Robin Griffin, an Australian detective specializing in sexual assault. It premiered in 2013, while Top of the Lake: China Girl premiered in 2017. It also marks Campion’s first television project since the 1990s, An Angel at My Table.
5. The Fall
The Fall is set in Northern Ireland crime drama television series. Allan Cubitt developed and wrote the series, which features Jamie Dornan as serial killer Paul Spector and Gillian Anderson as Detective Superintendent Stella Gibson. It is produced by Artists Studio and aired on RTÉ One in Ireland and BBC Two in the United Kingdom.
The plot revolves around Superintendent Stella Gibson, a senior investigative officer. She assesses investigations to evaluate the progress of a homicide investigation that has been ongoing for over 28 days. When it becomes evident that a serial murderer is on the loose, local detectives must cooperate with Stella to track down and apprehend Paul Spector. The latter is targeting young professional women in Belfast.
