The two accused, aged 23 and 24, were not present when they returned to court on Monday in a Montreal court accused of kidnapping, assault and forcible imprisonment.
They announced through the voice of their lawyers that they would go straight to trial for their alleged crimes in the summer of 2021, which put the police on alert.
A publication ban prevents disclosure of details of the case and all evidence presented by the Crown at this time.
In particular, the alleged kidnapping victim was present in court to testify in her brother’s defense. Since she was a minor at the time of the alleged facts, her name is prohibited, which also prevents the identity of her brothers from being revealed.
They will be back in court in January to set a trial date.
