Pirates of the Caribbean without Margot Robbie? “I don’t think they want to do that anymore.”
It looks like a Pirates of the Caribbean reboot starring Margot Robbie isn’t going to happen. In an interview with Vanity Fair, the two-time Academy Award-nominated actress revealed that Disney is no longer interested in making the movie.

Margot Robbie leaving Pirates of the Caribbean

We had an idea and worked on it for a while. That was a long time ago – Ruby Reports – We wanted to create a story that relied more – but not entirely – on female characters. It’s just going to be a different kind of story that we think is going to be really cool. But it seems they don’t want to do that anymore.

Recall: In June 2020, The Hollywood Reporter announced that Disney was preparing two projects under the “Pirates of the Caribbean” banner. The first co-stars Robbie and screenwriter Christina Hodson (“Birds of Prey”). The show has been announced as a separate movie running outside of the main series. Craig Mazin (Chernobyl) was responsible for the second project and Ted Elliot, who wrote the script for the first part of “Pirates”.

In May of this year, series producer Jerry Bruckheimer announced that both versions of the script were in active development. However, according to Robbie’s statement, the studio’s plans have changed.

Pirates of the Caribbean (2003) was based on attractions from a Disney theme park. The movie was a huge success and spawned four sequels. All parts have grossed $4.5 billion worldwide. However, 2017’s Revenge of Salazar sold below expectations, earning the worst result of any sequel ($794.9 million).

Margot Robbie: What movie will we see her in soon?

Margot Robbie is currently promoting the movie “Babylon”, which will premiere in Polish cinemas on January 20. It is a story about the changes in the film production system due to the introduction of sound. The project is described as “The Great Gatsby on Steroids”. Behind the camera was Damien Chazelle, and the cast also included m.in. Brad Pitt and Olivia Wilde.
