The astronauts were introduced by Josef Ashbacher, Director General of the European Space Agency on November 23 in Paris during the last day of the ESA Council meeting at ministerial level. ESA contracts will be awarded to six primary astronauts, including one with a disability, and 11 reserve astronauts. The first are practically guaranteed trips to the International Space Station (ISS), and possibly even to one of NASA’s lunar missions being carried out with the participation of the European Space Agency.
Reserves, including the pole, can join them at any time and start intense trainingIf the European Space Agency expands manned programmes, in particular the use of the International Space Station.
Choosing a pole for this exclusive set is a huge success. Sławosz Uznański had to overcome more than 22,000 km. Candidates from all over Europe are in the one and a half year ESA qualification rounds. Candidates have passed various tests of knowledge about space and space technologies, computational intelligence and aptitude, ability to solve complex and unusual problems under time pressure, mental toughness, and maintaining calm under pressure. They underwent detailed medical examinations and passed a series of interviews.

Sławosz Uznański as operator of the Large Hadron Collider
An additional advantage for the pole was the experience gained at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva, where It serves as the operator of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).. It is a complex and technologically advanced device like a space station.

Dr. Uznański is also involved in the design of radiation-resistant electronics, which should be used in space. A PhD in electronics and the ability to do scientific research are his other useful assets on the space station. His hobby is hiking in the Himalayas – This is the best way to train resistance to stress and difficult conditions.
– This is certainly one of the most important days in my life, but also a unique moment for Polish science and Polish participation in space exploration. Recognizing our achievements and emphasizing our potential – Sławosz Uznański comments on the selection.
– As a Pole, I am proud to represent our country in the implementation of the joint European space program. Our participation in it is really great. I’m sure it will be much bigger than that confirmed.
Sławosz Uznański comes from LodzIn 2008 he graduated with honors from the Lodz University of Technology with a master’s degree. In the same year, he obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Nantes (France) and a degree in engineering. at the local polytechnic college. In 2011, he defended his doctorate with distinction at Aix-Marseille University (France).
He is the author of a book on the effects of radiation in electronic systems, and has co-authored more than 50 articles in scientific journals and conferences.. His interests have always been closely related to the space industry. He has delivered lectures on space systems design at international engineering schools, organized workshops between CERN and NASA, and for the private sector.

He was a reviewer for several commercial satellite projects, such as the ICEYE satellites, and projects related to the Polish space sector, such as PW-SAT2, HyperSat and EagleEye.
Poland plays a role in the world
– This is a great success for our cosmonaut, but also a distinction for Poland – confirms Grzegorz Wrochna, head of the Polish Space Agency. Our European partners have noticed and appreciated our civilizational development and progress in recent decades.
confirm it During ESA meetings, he heard many warm words about our companies and our scientists who play an increasingly important role in ESA programs. He hopes that the choice of the pole to hold the astronauts will be the best incentive for the further development of the space sector in Poland as a sign that the country’s development is carried out through investments in the latest technologies.
The European Space Agency’s Ministerial Council convened in Paris on November 22-23. It was attended by representatives of ESA member states and associate and cooperating countries. During the meeting, the directions of the ESA’s activities for the coming years were discussed, which are aimed at ensuring that Europe strengthens its position in the conquest of space, as well as budget issues.
Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
