On Wednesday morning, Volodymyr Zelensky officially confirmed media reports about his visit to the United States. He announced that he would meet with President Joe Biden and address Congress as well.
During a press conference call, a representative of the White House said that Zelensky’s visit to the United States was the result of a conversation between the two heads of state on December 11. Zelensky is scheduled to meet with Biden on Wednesday afternoon local time (evening Polish time), appear at a news conference and address both houses of Congress in the evening.

Earlier on Tuesday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said there will be a session of Congress on Wednesday night that will focus specifically on democracy.

First foreign trip since the outbreak of war
Zelensky left Ukraine for the last time on February 19, while visiting a security conference in Munich (Germany). The visit to the United States will be the first foreign trip since the outbreak of war.
