Poland closed the crossing at Bobrowniki

On February 10, Poland closed the border crossing at Bobrowniki, the last operational crossing in the Grodno region, “in the interests of state security”. The day before, a Belarusian court in Grodno had sentenced Andrzej Bokzobot, an activist and journalist from a Polish minority, to eight years in a penal colony.

Bobrowniki for more than a year were the only ones in the province. Podlasie, a working border crossing with Belarus, where cargo and passenger traffic takes place. On November 9, 2021, due to the migration crisis, the largest land crossing with Belarus – in Konica – was closed until further notice. The crossing at Połowce is also closed. Only crossings in the Lubelskie Voivodship are open: Terespol – for passenger traffic and Koroszczyn-Kukuryki – for cargo traffic.
