The Italian Prime Minister arrived by train from Poland after a several-hour visit to Warsaw, during which she met President Andrzej Duda and Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. At Rzeszow Airport, she passed US President Joe Biden, who had arrived there on his way back from Kiev before flying on to Warsaw, when she flew from there.
The two leaders’ planes stood at the same airfield for some time. They did not meet in person, but Meloni was contacted by Biden while they were in Poland.

After the meeting, Prime Minister Meloni stated that she affirmed her full support for Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression. She emphasized that “Italy will not hesitate,” and warned that the defeat of Ukraine could also lead to the invasion of other European countries.

Meloni expressed her belief that any peace that would not be just and involve the surrender of Ukraine could not be a “true peace”. The Prime Minister announced that her country would like to organize a conference on the reconstruction of Ukraine in April.
Earlier, during her visit to Bokza, Meloni had not hidden her feelings, and heard a report of what had happened in this peaceful part of the residential neighborhood before the war, where the Russians had put up torture chambers and where mass graves for executions. The victims were discovered later. The head of the Italian government paid tribute to the victims by laying a bouquet of flowers at the memorial site.
“We will fight for you and your freedom,” she told local officials. Then I went to the destroyed Irbin.
