On the eve of the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the United States announced $2 billion in additional military aid to Kiev. The F-16 is not a matter of short-range combat. The F-16 is a matter of Ukraine’s long-term defense, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told CNN when asked about Ukraine’s invitation to supply it with US fighter jets.
“The United States will give Ukraine an additional $2 billion in security assistance,” White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Thursday.
“We’ll continue to look at what’s needed and make sure we’re providing what’s necessary for Ukraine to have what it needs to succeed on the battlefield,” Sullivan told CNN.
He added that the G7 will announce a new package of sanctions against Russia on Friday.
