What do Afghans want today? We dream of a normal life for us and our children. We want to live in a safe and democratic country, they told Fakt on the LOT ship that flew to Poland.
The plane took off from Warsaw on Tuesday 17.15. We headed to Uzbekistan, but after about 3 hours of flight, we planned to land in Tbilisi. In the Georgian capital, the airport service has replenished reserves of aircraft fuel. After about 40 minutes, we drove to Nawoi in Uzbekistan.
The crisis on the Polish-Belarusian border. The boss spoke
Before we reached our final destination at 3 am. A group of 93 people was waiting for us in an airport-like building. First, they were all tested for the presence of the coronavirus.
The Afghans began boarding the plane at 3.50. They are partners in military units and their families. They moved in silence. There were many babies on the boat, the youngest was only 4 days old. Fakt’s correspondent looked closely at this operation, which was organized by the soldiers of the Polish army.
I appeal to all powerful nations: help our country
Most of them were eager to talk about what had happened to them in their home country and why they had to flee from it.
I lived in Kabul, the capital of Afghanistan. I have three children. My husband worked in a private bank. We were leading a quiet and modest life, but we were happy. Unfortunately, someone suddenly came and ruined everything, our whole country – a young woman named Sima told us. I appeal to all powerful nations: help our country. Everyone knows where the Taliban are and who made them. I can’t talk about these things anymore. Now my only dream is for my children to have a good life in those countries that helped us – and she cries.
Willy, who cooperated with the military unit, is also fleeing the Taliban.
– I am going to Lithuania, because from 2008 or 2009 I cooperated with the Lithuanian army as a translator. It took 5 years. When the Lithuanian army left Afghanistan, we began working with an international organization to fight hunger. Now Afghanistan is collapsing on the Taliban, and we were lucky to have survived. It was impossible to live in this country, everything is falling apart. That’s why I’m going to Lithuania with my family. One of my brothers is a journalist. Unfortunately, he did not have the opportunity to go to another country as I did. He flew to Iran – the guy told us.
