Wrestling: WWE is back at the Videotron Center, this time with “Monday Night RAW.”

After the success of “Sunday Stunner” in Quebec City last summer, WWE will present its most popular “Monday Night RAW” this time on August 21 at the Videotron Center.

The massive show, which has been broadcast live in dozens of countries every Monday for 30 years, will visit Quebec for the first time.

WWE has already confirmed that Quebec stars Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens will be in attendance.

“The American Nightmare,” Cody Rhodes, and “many other superstars” will also be in attendance, according to a press release sent out by Videotron Center.

Among the many, we see notably Seth “Freakin'” Rollins, Becky Lynch, Matt Riddle, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

“Monday Night RAW is really WWE’s flagship show,” said Patrick LaPrade, who co-hosts TVA Sports with Kevin Raphael. […] This was the first WWE telecast in Quebec, as the Coliseum was not designed for this type of production.

A market in Quebec

It’s been eight years since WWE came to Quebec last summer when they hosted the “Sunday Stunner.”

In the eyes of author and historian LaBrate, the fact that the legendary “Monday Night Raw” will be produced there this year means that the city’s wrestling fans have passed the test in a way. Last year the arena had over 5600 visitors.

“I think WWE has a market there,” he notes, noting the popularity of events held in Montreal earlier this year.

Over three hours

“Monday Night RAW” is a huge production that goes beyond the spectacle presented in the ring. But in the ring, you’ll usually find wrestling’s biggest stars, the ones who focus on televised events, says LaPrade.

“The show on TV lasts three hours, but usually there are one or two matches before the show airs, and then one after, the expert explains. It’s an opportunity for amateurs to see themselves on TV! The camera sometimes goes into the crowd, so it’s a chance to bring your identity and show it on the screen. opportunity.
