“Oppenheimer” – what will be Nolan’s new movie?

The film’s title character is physicist Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), who led the infamous Manhattan Project during World War II. The purpose of the secret program funded by the US government was to create the first fully functional and controllable nuclear weapons. For this reason, Oppenheimer, who died in 1967, is sometimes called the father of the atomic bomb. The screenplay, written by Nolan himself, is based on the book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bard and Martin J. Sherwin.

The film crew, in addition to Murphy, also includes m.in. Matt Damon Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, Josh Hartnett, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Gary Oldman, Casey Affleck, Benny Safdie, Dean DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Dastmalchian and Kenneth Branagh.
