The United States asked Türkiye if it would give Ukraine the S-400.  What was the answer?

“The United States asked if we could give Ukraine the S-400 surface-to-air missile systems that we had previously purchased from Russia. We said no.”

Mevlut Cavusoglu said.

This was the minister’s response to a question about Turkey’s relationship with the United States, according to the BBC.

Moscow and Ankara signed a $2.5 billion deal to deliver the S-400 in 2017. The missiles arrived in Turkey in the summer of 2019. The station noted that the United States tried to block these deliveries, and because of the agreement, Turkey was excluded from the production and delivery program for the latest F-fighters. 35.

Parliamentary and presidential elections will be held in Türkiye on May 14. The only significant competitor to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has been in power for nine years, is the leader of the Republican People’s Party, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
