The project is titled “Moody” and will be a biography of the Italian painter and sculptor Amedeo Modigliani.
The film was set in 1916 in Paris. It will tell about 48 hours of the artist’s life. Modigliani hides from the police by visiting the war-torn city’s streets and taverns. He plans to end his career, but other artists try to convince him to change his mind: Maurice Utrillo, Chaim Soutine, and Beatrice Hastings. Modigliani also seeks advice from his friend, art dealer Leopold Zborowski, but the chaos comes to a head when a collector appears who could completely change the painter’s life…
“Moody” is based on a play by Dennis McIntyre. Screenplay by Jerzy and Marie Krumolovsi (“The Promise”, “Chase in the Fog”).
Italian actor Riccardo Scamarcio will play the title characterwho just played another famous Italian painter, Caravaggio, in a movie “Lombra di Caravaggio”. French Pierre Nene (“Masquerade”) plays Maurice Utrillo. and American Al Pacino (“House of Gucci”) you will play the collector.
The film will be shot in Budapest.
Depp’s directorial debut “The Brave”
Moody will be Johnny Depp’s second feature film. The first film was shot in 1997 “Brave”.
In this movie, Depp also appeared as an actor. He was partnered with Marlon Brando, who had one of his last movie roles.
The movie takes place in Morgantown. Rafael is an Indian who lives with his wife, Rita, and two children in a nearby garbage dump. He is poor and supports his family from things that are thrown into a landfill. And one day he went to the city in search of work. He reaches out to a mysterious man known as McCarthy, who makes him an offer. He wants Raphael to give him his life and in return he will pay his family $50,000. Rafael agrees and gets the last week. He hides from everyone the fact that he got a job in a warehouse, but the wife suspects that Rafael is back on the path of crime and has started stealing again.
