According to Bloomberg, the 59-year-old billionaire paid for the property the highest amount ever spent on a home there (the previous record was $49.9 million and was set in 2019). The deal was sealed in June, shortly after Bezos became engaged to TV presenter Lauren Sanchez. Previously, the property was owned by a company called MTM Star International, which acquired it for $1.4 million in 1982.
