Today, Tuesday, three matches were played in the final round of the Champions League qualifiers. Galatasaray, Braga and Young Boys Bern, led by Lucas Chacomi, qualified for the group stage.
Galatasaray was in the best position before the rematch. The Turkish side beat Molde 3-2 away from home and had to complete formalities at home. Everything was going well for Okana Boruc’s team. After Mauro Icardi’s penalty kick in the seventh minute, Galata were almost certain of playing in the group stage. But in the second half, the players scared their fans. Molde equalized and scored the second goal late in the game. After analyzing the video assistant referee, the referee, Simon Marciniak, canceled the goal, so that Galatasaray could enjoy the rise. Angelino sealed it with a goal in stoppage time.
Braga also advanced by one goal after the first match. In the second leg, the Portuguese team will once again beat Panathinaikos with the same size and will play in the group stage of the Champions League for the third time in history.
Polish fans can enjoy promoting Young Boys Bern. The Swiss team drew 0-0 with Maccabi Haifa in Israel, but left no illusions about the rematch. A confident 3:0 victory opened the way for Łukasz Łakomy’s team to reach the Champions League. And the Pole himself spent a quarter of an hour on the field in the rematch.
