A Celtic feast

The Quebec Celtic Festival continues to develop its delicious elements. Now in its fourth year, the feast with a Celtic flavor uses last year’s successful formula. Under a marquee, guests gather around large tables in a festive atmosphere and enjoy a 3-course meal with beers. It’s one of Cité Agricole’s partners creating a tempting menu: squash soup with pulled pork, pork rotisserie with meat sauce, Caesar salad with lettuce and garnished potatoes, and apple pie with maple and fresh creme caramel. “It’s a unifying formula,” says general manager Cynthia Hovington, who notes the increasingly significant interest in this aspect of their programming, which also offers pub tours of the region.

Night of the Galleries

Organizers have pulled out all the stops to offer gourmet food at a night of galleries that coincides with the port of Quebec arrivals of three cruise ships this year. “It will be a great meeting event between locals and tourists,” believes organizer Yann Latouche. Participants will travel 1.2 km through the most beautiful streets of the Petite Champlain district to visit forty art galleries open until 11 p.m., with enough to eat. Located on the Place de Paris, the gourmet area brings together five restaurants. Among them are two new Italian restaurants that recently opened nearby, antipasto bar Va Bene and Rafaella Ristorante. You can taste the bistronomic creations of Chez Muffy and Le Clan, the new restaurant of Chef Stéphane Modat and the Asian delights of Madame Fan. Loire Valley wines will also be honored during this festive evening.
