The Ukrainians attacked the Russians. Now the Poles must apologise

The official premiere of the Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 took place on September 26. Previously, a free update “2.0” was offered. Interest in CP2077 is truly great: Polish production is played by millions of gamers from all over the world. It is therefore not surprising that some translation changes are quickly detected when comparing the English and Ukrainian versions.

Anti-Russian content in a Polish game

The new Cyberpunk update includes the famous dialogue between the Ukrainian border guard and the commander of the Russian warship at the beginning of the Russian attack on Ukraine. In addition, the game also features graffiti symbolizing the occupation of Crimea since 2014. We can see the outlines of the peninsula with the coat of arms of Ukraine and the symbol of the Crimean Tatars superimposed on it. The Reaper Faction, a stereotypical gang of petty thieves, was called “Rusnya” in the Ukrainian version, meaning Russians contemptuously.
