While the solstice usually only occurs twice a year, Laurentians and tourists don’t have to wait long to treat themselves to a “smash burger” break and natural wine, an unusual combination in the region.
Open since September, Le Solstice plans to welcome gourmet dining year-round in its charming little complex adjacent to a gas station on Route 364 and very close to the Aerobic Corridor. Behind the hotplate or the cash register, depending, is Missy Tremblay, the owner, and her sisters, who followed her into this restaurant project, a first for her. After learning at various establishments, notably Au Pied de Cochon in Montreal, and working as a sommelier at a Michelin-starred restaurant in France, he chose the Laurentian as his home base. With Le Solstice, Missy offers gourmet cuisine, but simple and relaxed.

The specialty of this place is the “Smash Signature” double meatballs crushed on the plate and served on three brioche buns. The menu includes a Smash Taco, a breakfast sandwich, fries, hot dogs and poutines, as well as some vegetarian options. As for drinks, the owner wanted to offer personally imported wines to take away. Since the establishment has an alcohol license, you can accompany your meal with a margarita, a can of orange wine or a beer from Hermann Craft Brewery. The place only has two large tables, but in good weather, you can sit outside or order to go.
Open Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 7pm and Mondays 11am to 3pm.
