All of Quebec’s artistic elite gathered for the film’s Montreal premiere RsMonday evening, at the Place des Arts.

One of the most anticipated Quebec films of the fall, Rs is a film adaptation of author Kim Thuy’s best-selling novel published in 2009.
Kim Thuy walked the red carpet with film crew members including director Charles-Olivier Michaud and actors Chloé Jantjie, Chantal Thuy, Jean Puy, Olivier Dinh, Xavier Nguyen, Karine Vanas and Patrice Robitaille.
Many other dignitaries attended the premiere.
Directed by Charles-Oliver Michaud (elder brotherBased on the screenplay by Jack Davids (friendsThe film chronicles the journey of Dinh (Chloé Djandji), a young Vietnamese woman who escapes persecution and arrives in Quebec with her family in the late 1970s. Along with her parents and her two little brothers, the girl will try to adapt to her new life with the help of a caring couple from Quebec (Patrice Robitaille and Karine Vanasse), who will provide financial support for the family of newcomers.
Novel published by Libre Expressions in October 2009 RsThe story, inspired by an autobiography, has been translated into nearly thirty languages and has sold more than 540,000 copies worldwide.
Rs Exhibits across Quebec on November 24. The film has already had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival last September and has been well received.
