“Ted”: Trailer for the series
What will the “TED” series be about?
The 10-episode series “Ted” takes place in 1993, when the teddy bear’s fame faded. All he has left is his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett, who lives in Boston with his parents and cousin. Ted may not be the best influence on John, but when times of need come, he is willing to do anything to help his loved ones.
The production will star Max Burkholder (Parenthood), Scott Grimes (The Orville), and Georgia Whigham (Scream). The series is being produced for Peacock.
Burkholder will play the young John, whose adult version was played by Mark Wahlberg in “Ted” and “Ted 2.”
Whigham will play Blair Bennett, a smart, politically correct student who lives with her Uncle Matty, Aunt Susan, and young cousin John. He is not afraid to express his opinion and often argues with his traditional family.
Grimes, who stars in MacFarlane’s The Orville and voices several characters in Family Man, will play Matty, John’s father. The man – an omen – considers himself the head of the family and does not like to be opposed by his liberal niece Blair.
“Ted” – Seth MacFarlane returns as the titular hero
“Ted” was given the green light for production last year. The project was inspired by a conversation Seth MacFarlane had with NBCUniversal programming director Susan Rovner. MacFarlane will write, direct and produce all ten episodes. Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh (Modern Family) will also work on the script.
