Christopher Nolan would like to make Bond. But he won’t photograph it
Christopher Nolan (“Inception,” “Oppenheimer,” “The Dark Knight”) will not direct a new film about the adventures of agent 007. “There is not a grain of truth in the rumors about my involvement,” the director said.

Nolan and Bond – Was Oppenheimer’s creator supposed to make a 007 movie?

Bad News. Although in October the director’s fans went into a state of euphoria after rumors that the director was the lead Advanced talks with series producer and trademark rights holder Barbara Broccoli, who was scheduled to direct “two or three” Bond films. And now the creator has put all speculation to rest in an interview with the Associated Press. Let us remind you that it all sounded too good to be true. The films were to nod to the 1960s Bond tradition, be hyper-realistic and set back in the world of Cold War espionage.

good news. Of course, this does not mean that we have to say goodbye to this perspective forever. Nolan has repeatedly expressed interest in the James Bond character and is known to be in constant contact with Broccoli. In July, he said on Happy Sad Confused: “There’s no getting away from it. I love these films. Their influence on my filmography is absolutely clear. It would be an honor to make one.”. Later in his statement, he touched on the issue of absolute control over the artistic form of the work, which will of course be the subject of difficult mediation with the production management. In 2017, in an interview with Playboy magazine, he also expressed his desire to make a movie and said that he loved the series like no other.

For now, we’ll have to be patient, as the director is promoting Oppenheimer’s film in the home cinema market. However, nothing is known about his new project.

“Oppenheimer” – What is Nolan’s new film about?

The main character of the film is physicist Robert Oppenheimer (Cillian Murphy), who led the famous Manhattan Project during World War II. The goal of the secret US government-funded program was to create the first fully functional and controllable nuclear weapon. For this reason, Oppenheimer, who died in 1967, is sometimes called the father of the atomic bomb. The basis of the screenplay written by Nolan himself is the book “American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of Robert Oppenheimer” by Kay Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
Aside from Murphy, the film’s cast also included Matt Damon and Robert Downey Jr. Emily Blunt, Josh Hartnett, Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Gary Oldman, Casey Affleck, Penny Safdie, Dean DeHaan, Jack Quaid, Matthew Modine, Alden Ehrenreich, David Dastmalchian, and Kenneth Branagh.
