The United States of America supports the new president of Argentina. “Very positive” talks.

Juan Gonzalez, advisor to US President Joe Biden and director of the National Security Council for the Western Hemisphere, said the talks that took place the day before Melia’s inauguration were “very positive” and focused on the country’s faltering economy.

Argentina suffers from an inflation rate of 150 percent, and more than two-fifths of the population lives in poverty. The current IMF program is $44 billion, and if this plan fails, the central bank’s net reserves will be in the deep red, and the economy is at risk of recession.

Melia’s idea. “Electric shock therapy”

After his inauguration, Miley is expected to implement a series of measures aimed at reducing government spending. This will be a “shocking” treatment plan whose supporters hope will stabilize the economy, but it will be painful for Argentines, at least in the short term.
