The 41-year-old director loves difficult subjects. He previously made a film about parents who grieve the death of a child. He treated production for the priests as another challenge. He was simply curious about what was happening in the lives of these people who are among us and yet remain as unknown as the Amazon tribe. “It turned out that viewers shared this interest too,” says Damian Boyer.

– I think that the French, or Europeans in general, are interested in spirituality. They would also like to know the person of Christ. But the biggest problem is stereotypes. The director says that the main problem is not with God, but with the church. – That's why I said to myself: What if you told me about the lives of these believers who gave so much of themselves? See what fruit it brought, and how their lives changed. We looked at the lives of five priests who agreed to the reverse confession formula, that is, they agreed to answer all the questions. He adds that what attracts viewers most is their honesty.
Damien Boyer admits he was surprised by what he discovered while filming this film. – I did not expect that the priesthood would bring such wealth – admits the French director. – They surprised me with their level of response and honesty. Celibacy and obedience are most interesting, especially in a country as free as France. We all strive for freedom and do not understand why a well-educated young man goes not to big companies, but to the Catholic Church. This seems ridiculous. It seems to us today that the main challenges we face are politics and the environment, and they are undoubtedly important, but are these limitations real, is this the reason why we cannot discover what is real and authentic? – asks the director.
