“The Neverending Story”: a film series on its way to the screen
According to Variety, a number of studios and streaming platforms have been involved in the adaptation rights to Michael Ende's The NeverEnding Story in recent years. Eventually, they went to the studio See-Saw Films, which worked on productions like Dog's Claws, Heartstopper, and Lame Horses. Producers will be Ian Canning and Emil Sherman, who will join Roman Hawke and Ralph Gassman from Michael Ende Productions.
“The Neverending Story” was published in 1979. It quickly gained the status of a best-selling book – first in Germany, and then around the world, where millions of copies were sold.
This story is timely and timeless, and can truly be told in a new way – commented Ian Canning.
