An elderly British woman who thought she had picked up a hedgehog lying motionless on the side of the road was surprised to find it was actually just a pom pom after rushing to the vet on Thursday.
“She was so focused on doing the right thing. She was worried because he wasn't moving or pooping. That would be scary,” veterinarian Janet Kotze said with a laugh Tuesday. The Independent.
Last Thursday, a “well-meaning” elderly woman became concerned when she saw what appeared to be a motionless porcupine on the side of a road in Cheshire, United Kingdom, according to British media.
Without losing a moment, the woman, without touching the little animal, puts it in a warm box, covers it with a sheet to keep out the darkness, adds cat food, and rushes away.
“She did everything well. She didn't see it because she didn't want to stress him out,” continued the vet at the Lower Moss Wood Nature and Wildlife Reserve Hospital.
But it only took one look at the vet to learn it wasn't a small mammal, but a “fluffy pom pom out of a hat,” he shared with one of his colleagues. on Facebook.
Despite the woman's surprise and embarrassment, the veterinary clinic tipped its hat to her for her kindness and time.
