“Roses”: movie details
The heroes of the new version will be Theo (Cumberbatch) and Ivy (Coleman). They seem to be a perfect couple with successful careers, adorable children, and an enviable sex life. However, behind the facade of the perfect family lies a powder keg full of mutual rivalry and old grudges. It will explode with double force when Theo's career dreams are shattered.
“Flowers” It is developed for Searchlight Studio. The director is Jay Roach (“Meet My Dad,” “Hot Topic”). The screenplay was written by Tony McNamara (“The Favourite”, “Poor Things”).
Recall that the main roles in the first “War of the Roses” were played by Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The film won, among other things: three Golden Globe nominations and grossed $160 million in theaters.
We last saw Cumberbatch in Wes Anderson's Oscar-winning short “The Amazing Story of Henry Sugar,” and Colman's filmography ends with the musical “Wonka,” which has grossed over $600 million worldwide. Interestingly, both films are adaptations of Roald Dahl's prose.
