Questions from “Millionaires“It brings up a lot of emotions. Some people criticize the creators of the game show TVN Because of their randomness. The first questions can be very difficult, and the last questions – including the millionth question – can be very simple. Maria Romanek had the opportunity to find out. She was the second person in the show's history to win the main award. She just had to answer a question about multiplying two numbers. See if you can get a million.
A simple question in “Millionaires”. Thanks to him, the Polish teacher won the main prize
Maria Romanek is a retired Polish teacher. She had the opportunity to appear on the game show in 2018. She successfully answered eleven questions and was just one question away from winning the grand prize in “Millionrach“.
When Hubert Urbanski read the question, Maria Romanek answered almost immediately. And will you answer this question? It looked like this: “What is 1111 times 1111 if 1 times 1 equals 1 and 11 times 11 equals 121?”.
The responses were as follows:
A: 12321
B: 1 234 321
A: 111 111 111
D: 123454321
At first glance, the question may seem difficult because it is impossible to multiply these numbers without a calculator. However, a retired Polish teacher managed to solve it. How did she do it?
The answer to the question is very simple. Will you win a million zlotys?
Whether the above question is worth 1 million zlotys, Henrik Kakol, Professor Emeritus of the Institute of Mathematics at the Pedagogical University of Krakow and President of the “Mathematics for All” Foundation, said in an interview with WP Tech.
– I do not think so. The mathematician said that the answer came from a person who knows some calculations and can think, and he gave the correct answer.
What was the correct answer? This is explained by the number multiplication algorithm. The question gives the equation: 11 x 11 = 121 – the result is the following numbers: 1, 2, 1.
Going further, we can observe a certain relationship: the result of 111 x 111 is 12321 – this time we are multiplying a three-digit number, so we must put two more numbers between two numbers, i.e. three. Here we have first 1, then 2, 3, again 2, then 1.
In the case of 1111 x 1111, between the two numbers 1 there will be five consecutive numbers: 2, 3, 4 and then 3, 2. Therefore the correct answer to this question is B – 1 234 321.
Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
