In the photo | A customer returns a 2002 television to Costco

A Costco member went viral after bringing back the giant TV he bought in 2002.

An image shared by a Reddit user shows a massive screen mounted on a rolling platform in the customer service line at a Costco in Pennsylvania.

It could be the Samsung HCL552W screen, which was sold in tablets in 2002.

Today, the store chain accepts electronics returns within 90 days of purchase. However, prior to 2007, Costco's policy stated that there was no time limit for refunds; Members can withdraw their purchases even after several years.

That's what this Costco member had in mind when returning this 20-year-old television.

“I don't see the person who came up with this article,” wrote the internet user who shared the famous photo.

“I only saw the staff doing the refunds. Their response was: 'It's in line with the regulations' and a shrug,” he adds.

The post received over 67,000 reactions and 4,000 comments on Reddit.
