A successful first ball for Quebec’s National Museum of Fine Arts

$335,000 was raised on Saturday during the first edition of the National Ball, a new humanitarian experience for the benefit of the Fondation du Musée National des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ).

Under the honorary chairmanship of Pierre Karl Péladeau, President and CEO of Quebecor, the event brought together nearly 300 guests, including dignitaries, members of the business community and philanthropists.

“As Honorary President, I express my deepest gratitude to all those who helped make this event a reality. […] Quebecor is proud to be an important partner of the museum and its foundation,” underlined Pierre Karl Péladeau.

The amount raised during the evening will allow the organization to continue to promote and support the museum, but above all contribute to the creation of Espace Riobelle.

Between the Gérard-Morisset and Pierre-Lassonde pavilions, the more than $80 million project will house the largest public works by Jean-Paul Riobell in the world.

“If there is something that characterizes Quebec, it is its cultural identity. It is inevitable that we have strong cultural spaces that testify to this richness,” he commented on the importance of investing in culture.

Fabrice Alcayde, Interim President and CEO of the MNBAQ Foundation, wished to thank all those who, directly or indirectly, made possible the “stunning success of national football”.
