What will we watch starting Friday, May 17 in cinemas in Wroclaw on Netflix and HBO Max? Premieres

The film premieres May 17-23, 2024. What’s in theaters?

Monster, dir. Hirokazu Kore-eda

Academy Award-nominated and Palme d’Or winner Hirokazu Kore-eda returns with a meticulous and deeply moving new film. In “The Monster” he created a surprising and perfectly constructed story about children’s secrets.

“The Monster” shows three points of view on the same seemingly simple story. Fighting at school, a morally unstable teacher and a mother fighting for her son. The ensuing mysteries are assembled by Kore-eda with surgical precision and reveal the characters’ secrets to the viewer.

A story about how friendship, love and rejection exist in the same series. The film’s emotions are enhanced by the high-quality soundtrack, the latest work by Oscar-winning composer Ryuichi Sakamoto.

Slowly, dir. Maria Kavtaradze

A sensual and provocative love story that has never been brought to screens before. It’s been a long time since they’ve featured a duo with such spark.

Elena is a dancer and Dovydas is a sign language interpreter. They both work with their bodies, searching for the best way to express – through dance and hand movements – the subtlest nuances of meaning and the deepest emotions. They seem made for each other, but instead of a happy ending we get the status: “It’s complicated.”

Because Elena loves sex, and Dovydas can do without it. So, in good faith, they check whether it is possible to love without lust. Kavtaradze’s film boldly addresses the subject of new models of relationships, and is an emotional film that showcases both brilliant direction and acting chemistry.

Hitman, dir. Richard Linklater

Gary Johnson (Glen Powell), a secretive and shy philosophy professor, shows his other side by working as a “fake killer” for the New Orleans Police Department.

The man has an unparalleled talent for amazing transformations and disguises, and is unrivaled in capturing people who plan to kill their enemies.

But what if, by impersonating a sexy killer, he found himself under the spell of the woman he intended to send to prison? Will he be able to resist the beautiful Madison (Adria Arjona), who is embroiled in a hot romance, or will he himself become a victim in this cunning game of appearances?

Fantastic creatures, dir. John Krasinski

The story of a girl who discovers that she can see the imaginary friends of everyone she knows. What does he do with this superpower? He will embark on a magical adventure to connect forgotten fantastical beings with those who matter most to them.

The film stars Cailee Fleming, Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Fiona Shaw, and the voices of: Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Louis Gossett Jr. and Steve Carell, as well as many other characters that reflect the amazing power of a child’s imagination.

Tarot: Death Card, dir. Spencer Cohen, Anna Hallberg

The horror story revolves around a group of friends who violate the sacred Tarot rule of never using other people’s cards. Unwittingly, they release the evil trapped in the cursed cards.

One by one, they come face to face with fate and begin a race against the future predicted in the cards. In the film we will see: Harriet Slater, Adin Bradley, Avantic and Jacob Batalon (known for his role as Ned in the Spider-Man series).

Drought 2: Power of Nature, dir. Robert Connolly

Detective Aaron Falk returns to solve a disappearance in the Australian bush. On the night of her disappearance, Alice Russell made only two calls – one to emergency care and one to Aaron. It quickly becomes clear that each participant in the trip presents a slightly different version of events.

During an investigation that takes him deep into the dark forest, Falk discovers the secrets hidden in the shadows of the mountains. He attempts to untangle the tangle of personal and professional relationships between five women who are no strangers to suspicion and betrayal – but will that be enough to get the kill?

Corporate team building trips are rarely fun. This quickly turns into a nightmare when it turns out that only four of the group of five co-workers have returned… A thriller from the producers of “Gone Girl” based on the best-selling novel by Jane Harper and starring Eric Bana.
