One person died and 39 others were injured on board a flight from London to Singapore on Tuesday. Seven of them are in critical condition. During the flight, the machine experienced very strong turbulence. The local authorities in Thailand, where the Boeing plane was forced to make an emergency landing, announced that the death was of a 73-year-old Briton, who had likely suffered a heart attack.
There were 211 passengers and 18 crew members on board the Singapore Airlines Boeing 777 from London to Singapore. Due to bad weather conditions, the plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Thai Immigration Service initially said medical staff had boarded the plane to assess passengers’ injuries, but it was unable to confirm the number of injured. The unharmed people were taken to the airport.
In a video clip published by Bangkok Airport, a convoy of ambulances can be seen heading towards the plane.
“Our priority is to provide all possible assistance to all passengers and crew members. We are working with the local authorities in Thailand to provide the necessary medical assistance,” Singapore Airlines said in a statement.
According to data from the FlightRadar24 website, the plane reduced its flight from 37,000 feet (more than 11 kilometers) to 31,000 feet (about 9.5 kilometers) within three minutes, the Associated Press reported.
The machine remained at this altitude for less than 10 minutes before suddenly descending again. Less than half an hour later, the plane landed in Bangkok.
At an evening press conference in Bangkok, local authorities announced that the passenger who died during the flight was a 73-year-old Briton, and that he had likely suffered a heart attack. His wife, who is traveling with him, is in the hospital. Her condition is unknown.
They also reported that 39 passengers were injured, seven of whom were in critical condition. Nine crew members were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.
