A Russian court sentenced the scientist to 14 years in labor camps.  The reason was high treason

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, potential traitors have been hunted across Russia. Most often, among them are artists, scientists and writers. What they have in common is that the vast majority of them oppose the Kremlin’s current policy.

According to the independent Russian portal Mediazona, Anatoly Maslov appeared in court this time. The 77-year-old has been active at the Russian Academy of Sciences in Novosibirsk for years. but now The man would trade lecture halls for 14 years in a maximum security labor camp.

The court stated the reason in St. Petersburg When his sentence was announced, there was high treason on behalf of China. It was supposed to transfer secret data related to supersonic speed there. However, the man did not admit guilt to any of the acts he was accused of.
