Lech Poznań’s president, Piotr Rutkowski, met with journalists on Wednesday. According to Goal.pl’s Damian Smek, the activist confirmed that last year the club received an offer for Christopher Velde from Besiktas.
TVP Sport’s Sebastian Staszewski announced on Wednesday that Christopher Velde will leave Lech Poznań in the summer. The player and club authorities have reportedly come to the conclusion that this is the right time to part ways. Clubs from France, Spain and Turkey are interested in the Norwegian. Its value was estimated at six million euros.
In the past, the media linked Veldi to several teams. Last summer, Fabrizio Romano reported Besiktas’ interest in the winger. It is very rare for an Italian journalist to report on transfers about Extraclassa players.
Piotr Rutkowski confirmed the topic and even the appearance of the show. However, the residents of Poznań were not satisfied.
“In parts like this, they immediately dropped it because it didn’t make any sense,” Damian Smick said on Twitter.
We will see if Besiktas will be among the clubs that want to sign Veldi this year as well. The Istanbul team finished the season in sixth place in the Turkish Super League table.
During the 2023/2024 season, Veldi scored 10 goals and made five assists in the Polish League. Including the domestic cup and Europa League qualifiers, the 24-year-old has scored 13 goals.
His contract with the Collegors runs until the end of 2025. So he is slowly approaching the finish line.
