New discoveries about the Milky Way Galaxy The European Space Agency has provided amazing data

The Gaia Space Telescope continues to provide vital information, and now it has helped determine just that The last major collisions in the Milky Way occurred suddenly recently. Researcher Thomas Donlon and his team published the results of their analyzes of this collision in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.

So when did this collision happen? As Heidi Jo Newberg, co-author of the aforementioned research, explains: “For the ripples to be as pronounced as the Gaia data suggest, they would have to be linked to an event that occurred less than three billion years ago — so At least five billion years later than previously thought“.

– Thanks to this data we found out The ripples may have formed when a dwarf galaxy collided with the Milky Way about 2.7 billion years ago..
