Few people can have a good time like the Scots. The fans there took over downtown Munich. It is assumed that up to 150 thousand people flew to Bavaria. Fans from this part of the UK. Naturally, most of them were unable to enter the match because they did not have tickets, but that did not prevent them from having fun.

They wore special skirts, special skirts, sang all the time, drank loads of beer and had a good time. They were not aggressive, and Germans and other nationalities willingly joined in the fun.
Also on the way to the match, fans of both teams drove side by side in unison. The Scots were getting louder on the train again. At one point, the line stopped for a long time because another train broke down and the tracks were closed, but the crowds did not mind the extended stop.
The cart was packed to capacity, but it didn’t really bother the fans. They were still having fun and singing, some even still holding beer in their hands. Mutual integration was going on, German fans came from different cities, the old lady declared herself a Borussia Dortmund fan, there were also fans of Werder Bremen and of course Bayern Munich.
Only the Pole, whose clothes showed that he was returning home from physical work, was very dissatisfied with the delay and did not like the whole euro thing. – It’s all because of them. “Normally I would have been home for half an hour,” he complained.
Beer is more expensive than restaurants
At Fruitmanning station, the train abandoned and the fans moved to the stadium gates. On the way, which usually takes 15 minutes from the station to the stadium, but much longer before the match, we pass many desperate fans standing with a ‘I need a ticket’ sign, but it is doubtful they will find anyone willing to sell them. They have their tickets.
The Scots continued to have a good time. – No Scotland, no party – There’s no party without Scotland, sing. Entry was slow, and there were long lines, but I cleverly avoided them and got into the stadium relatively quickly.
It wasn’t easy to find your place there, because the hosts didn’t know where it was. The volunteers were most helpful and it finally worked.
Before the match, there were long queues at the food service points, although it was not cheap. For comparison, a beer costs seven euros. In an airport restaurant, where prices are usually high, you can drink it for only 3.70 euros, and in bars you usually pay no more than five euros.
The penalty kick and red card killed emotions
The Scottish fans sang loudly again, and were particularly impressive during the unofficial anthem. The Germans were not quiet either, so the atmosphere was reminiscent of a real football celebration.
Naturally, there were much fewer Scots, no more than twelve thousand or so, but they were able to create a wonderful atmosphere. They particularly liked the song – “Scotland is Burning” – to the tune of Gala’s song “Freed from Desire”.
The course of the match must have disappointed them, but after the first two goals they have not lost their momentum yet. However, in the second half, when the score was 3-0 to the hosts, they calmed down noticeably. The situation at the end of the first half and the foul committed by Ryan Porteous on Ilkay Gundogan inside the penalty area completely killed the emotions. Kai Havertz successfully executed the penalty kick, the perpetrator was sent off the field and it became clear that the Scots were not going to do anything.
After the break, they were completely helpless for a long time, until the goal was scored, and their xG index, i.e. expected goals, was 0.00. So they literally created no situation. After Antonio Rudiger’s own goal, the Scottish fans came to life again. They got to sing ‘Scotland on Fire’ again.
This country could not take any more players, and the Germans scored another goal, making the score 5:1. The Scots have never been eliminated from a group at a major tournament, and they are playing there for the 12th time, so they are the European record holders in that regard. They have taken the first step to expand this notorious series.
A German step towards renaissance
But the Germans showed their strength. Last year they had a completely unsuccessful year (the other thing is that they only played friendly matches), and lost M. in. With Poland, during his tenure, beating our team was an art.
The previous three tournaments were not entirely successful, as they failed to get out of the group twice in a row, and in the previous European tournaments they were eliminated in the 1/8 finals. This is the biggest crisis in the history of the German national team, but it may be about to end.
So the fans can celebrate, and at the end they proudly sing Sieg, meaning victory. They also demanded the entry of Thomas Muller, who is approximately 35 years old, and when he appeared on the field there was great applause. First for the departing Gamal Musiala, then for the veteran who is 14 years older than him. Later, the fans chanted his name loudly. He has great sympathy in Munich, but it is no surprise that he has been at Bayern for 24 years.
After the match, the Scottish fans thanked the players for their fight and the Germans celebrated. Several minutes after the final whistle, coach Julian Nagelsmann went to thank the last remaining fans in the stadium, and they bid him farewell with a standing ovation. The first step towards the revival of the German national team has been taken.
