The cloud gaming service in the form of NVIDIA GeForce NOW has been available for several years and is currently one of the most dynamically evolving forms of gaming via the cloud. The beginnings may not have been very promising, but the investment in servers has certainly paid off for NVIDIA, so today we can enjoy a fun game without having to buy very powerful computers or laptops. The most expensive and currently most functional package is Ultimate, which allows you to enjoy games via servers equipped with GeForce RTX 4080 class graphics systems (it is important to emphasize the wording of the GeForce RTX 4080 class GPU, since they are not actually the same models of graphics systems) and before we focus on testing GeForce NOW today. We want to show that today there is an alternative for people who do not feel the need to spend money on powerful PCs.

In early 2023, NVIDIA announced an expanded final plan for the service. Geforce nowwhich replaced the previously known version. The GeForce RTX 3080 series GPUs were replaced by GeForce RTX 4080 series systems, which are much more powerful, both in terms of rasterization and Ray Tracing, as well as new fourth-generation Tensor cores, which support, among other things, frame generation. However, the final plan has been further expanded to include gaming options, but we will return to this in a moment. With the development of the next levels of GeForce NOW, the manufacturer pays great attention to the development of the infrastructure, including, of course, the deployment of more servers. So far, users from Poland often connect to servers in Frankfurt. However, NVIDIA has already confirmed that another server will soon be created in Poland, which is very good news for us. A faster connection to the servers means less signal delay, and therefore more comfortable gameplay. NVIDIA GeForce NOW itself currently supports Nearly 2000 gamesand in the coming months this number will exceed two thousand. Here you will find both large AA and AAA productions, as well as independent games and free-to-play products. Suffice it to say that via GeForce NOW we can launch Fortnite, for example, which remains the king of the battle royale genre, which we can play for free. GeForce NOW is also open and in fact we don’t even need a computer to get to know this service. NVIDIA has provided support, among other things: for Android and iOS mobile systems, as well as for Mac computers (MacBook / Mac mini / iMac / Mac Pro) and Chromebook. A dedicated application is offered to PC owners, but if you don’t want it, you don’t have to download it either. We will launch GeForce NOW from a web browser. The application is available not only on PCs, but also on modern TVs with Smart TV systems as well as via the NVIDIA Shield TV set-top box. In addition, we hear more and more about the availability of the application on Xbox Series consoles (currently, we can play GeForce NOW on Microsoft consoles via a web browser). As you can see, you don’t have to worry about GeForce NOW availability, because it’s basically offered everywhere possible.
The cloud gaming service in the form of NVIDIA GeForce NOW has expanded significantly in recent years. We check out all the new products offered by the ultimate plan (RTX 4080 plan).
Current form of what it looks like Geforce nowHowever, it has been in the making for much longer than 2020. In fact, back in 2012, the manufacturer was planning to introduce a service that would allow gaming via the cloud. Initially, the project was called GeForce GRID, and finally in 2015 it was decided to change the name to GeForce NOW, which we know so well today. In the first years of GeForce NOW’s operation, the service was successively introduced to subsequent platforms. The launch took place on October 1, 2015, but only on NVIDIA Shield receivers and portable consoles. In 2017, there was an expansion to the PC and Mac markets. The beta tests, which began in 2015, continued until 2020, during which time the service was constantly developed and improved. After five years of testing, GeForce NOW made its debut in its final form with both a free plan and a paid Founders plan, which offers, among other things, better quality servers or longer uptime in a single session.
There was a certain period after the actual premiere. Geforce nowwhere some publishers decided to leave the service and stop offering the possibility of playing via NVIDIA servers (just to add – in the case of GeForce NOW we use games in our own libraries such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect or Microsoft / Game Pass, instead of buying them each time again to be able to play them in the cloud – this approach was well received by customers and was perhaps one of the nails in the coffin of the competitor Google Stadia, which required buying the game again), but in the end most of them decided to return, perhaps when they saw how popular the GeForce NOW service was. Today, via NVIDIA servers, we can easily play games from catalogs of companies such as Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Microsoft (this also applies to games available on Game Pass), Sony, Bethesda and many others. Over the following years of GeForce NOW’s existence, it was also decided to organize individual subscription levels and this is how the so-called three levels are called: Free, Priority, and Ultimate. These packages are available as a monthly or semi-annual subscription. In addition, NVIDIA has introduced so-called one-day passes, both for priority and ultimate packages. Thanks to them, you can check the performance of GeForce NOW when playing in the cloud, without having to pay for a whole month or half a year at once (after all, someone may simply want to check the service and after a day will not be interested in further subscription). Therefore, the service can be a great solution for people who use weaker computers (including laptops, Chromebooks or Apple devices) on a daily basis, or even consoles of the previous or current generation, and who want to check how modern games look like on maximum graphics settings. Believe me – GeForce NOW in the ultimate plan is able to show it.
