Professor Andrew Greaves, a mechanical engineer and political scientist at the University of Bath, said industry leaders were not surprised by the company’s decision and had “warned about it for a long time”. “There is huge competition for Dyson products around the world and many of the company’s products have not been successful recently,” he said.
