A Polish woman is the “heroine” of an unprecedented trial in Germany. She is known as “Schumi.”

The tragedy occurred two years ago in Barsenhausen, Germany.Ewa B. was driving a dark blue Audi A6 at 180 km/h. on a road with a speed limit of 70 km/h. Her dangerous driving led to an accident that killed two children – aged 2 and 6 – who were travelling in a Nissan Qashqai. Their parents miraculously survived.

The woman faces life in prison.

What makes this trial unique is the fact that Ewa B. is charged not only with causing the accident, but with murder. Prosecutors say the woman used her car as a “public hazard,” taking the lives of innocent people. She faces life in prison.
