Award-winning German television journalist Hubert Sippel has been expelled from the Netzwerk Recherche association because he “violated the basic principles of independent journalism.” Netzwerk Recherche is an organization that supports and promotes investigative journalism in Germany.
In November 2023, it emerged that the award-winning journalist and TV writer had received PLN 600,000 (EUR) from Russian businessman Alexei Mordashov. The money was intended to support book projects. “The payments accepted by Hubert Sippel contradict all principles of journalistic integrity and professionalism. With his actions, he has caused serious damage to investigative journalism and the reputation of our profession in the eyes of the public,” the association said, citing the union. DPA, justifying the exclusion.
After the allegations were revealed, the Hamburg-based publishing house Hoffmann & Kamppe stopped publishing in November last year. Two books by Siebel about Vladimir Putin published in recent years have sold out.
Echo Richards embodies a personality that is a delightful contradiction: a humble musicaholic who never brags about her expansive knowledge of both classic and contemporary tunes. Infuriatingly modest, one would never know from a mere conversation how deeply entrenched she is in the world of music. This passion seamlessly translates into her problem-solving skills, with Echo often drawing inspiration from melodies and rhythms. A voracious reader, she dives deep into literature, using stories to influence her own hardcore writing. Her spirited advocacy for alcohol isn’t about mere indulgence, but about celebrating life’s poignant moments.
