Cicada in town: Loud concert cancelled

This Friday’s loud show at the Agora du Port de Quebec was canceled after strong winds and heavy rain threatened the safety of the audience and technical crew.

The rapper, who last week gave a concert at Canada House as part of the Paris Olympics, was set to perform as part of the first edition of Siquel en Ville in Quebec.

As for the Cigale, which will take place on Saturday August 10 and Sunday August 11 in Baie de Beauport, the weather looks favorable and the activities are currently being maintained, organizers said.

“The safety of our event attendees and staff remains our highest priority. This is why we are forced to take this difficult decision. We can’t wait to welcome thousands of Sicilians under the sun this weekende An edition that promises to be memorable,” said Martin Tremblay, president of Gesteve.

With Friday’s performances completely cancelled, ticket holders have the option of attending one of the two days of the Chigal festival. Loud’s ticket is automatically valid for two days at the entrance to the Sigel site, but cannot be scanned on both days.

Refunds can be made via Ticketmaster.ca, by phone or in person at the Videotron Center box office.

The portion of the festival that will be offered on Saturday August 10 and Sunday August 11 is being maintained and tickets are still available cigalequebec.com.
